VIII. overall history alexander decherie died of leukemia about two months before annabella was born, and helena raised her alone until the age of three, when she went to go live with master lereve and his son droiture, as helena was now droiture's nanny. droiture and annabella became fast friends and grew up together, eventually finding love in one another. they began dating in high school, and their relationship continued even after richard and helena announced their engagement. soon after the wedding of richard and helena, droiture and annabella left france to live in america. soon after they arrived in america, annabella was struck down with the same cancer her father had died from, and from the day they moved into their new home in georgia, it has been an uphill battle for annabella to stay alive.
